Teledentistry can help during any dental emergency.
Accidents happen and oral health emergencies can occur at any time. From toothaches, or knocked out teeth, to a broken tooth and swelling on your gums – a live video conference with a licensed Ontario dentist can provide valuable assistance. Even though it isn’t a substitute for an in-office visit, it is often possible to determine the nature of your problem on a video chat with an Ontario dentist. If additional care is required, an appointment can quickly be arranged for patients to visit an approved emergency dentist clinic location for hands-on treatment without the need to search for and qualify that care provider.
Bypass the hassle and get straight to professional advice.
If you’ve ever had a dental emergency and phoned a clinic, you’ve likely experienced how long it can sometimes take to speak with a dentist. That’s not the case with teledentistry, where patients are quickly connected with a licensed Ontario dentist who can assist with their situation. After being entered into our system, patients can schedule an appointment that will allow them to consult with a licensed Ontario dentist almost immediately. Even though it isn’t a substitute for an in-office visit, a teledentistry consultation is a fast and convenient way to get a referral that would otherwise require multiple phone calls or possibly a visit to a hospital emergency room.
Get prescriptions virtually.
Our teledentistry service allows dentists to meet with and diagnose patients through an online video conference and then prescribe medications if necessary. Although it isn’t a substitute for an in-office visit, this saves patients time and money while avoiding the inconvenience of visiting a clinic for an appointment.
Even if you’re busy, you can still consult a dentist online.
Time is important, and some patients are too busy to visit a dental office. Martindale Teledentistry service makes it easy to get the help you need to receive emergency care from a licensed Ontario dentist from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you are). Appointment times are flexible and all you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera to meet with a licensed dentist online.
We can help put your mind at ease!
Experiencing a dental emergency is often a nerve-wracking experience, and the sooner help arrives, the better. Sometimes all it takes to alleviate a lot of anxiety is a friendly, dental professional to explain what’s going on and what your options are. Teledentistry is the easiest way to quickly connect with a licensed Ontario dentist for a consultation about your emergency. Often, emergency patients can be helped through the video conference, and if not, they are quickly referred to a clinic that is open and able to provide treatment using the appropriate PPE as outlined by our regulatory body, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO). Get the opinion of a licensed dental professional and put your mind at ease with our teledentistry service.

Is teledentistry only for dental emergencies?
At this time, the Martindale Dental Teledentistry service is for anyone in need of consultation about a dental emergency from a licensed Ontario dentist. In a dental emergency, taking the right steps quickly is important to a successful recovery and speaking with a professional immediately is extremely valuable. This aspect is especially convenient during the current COVID-19 social distancing and shutdowns, where attending a dental appointment is often not possible.
Do you have questions about your oral health?
If you have questions about an oral health issue, an online consultation with a dentist can help clear things up. For example, patients unsure of how to use a new medication would benefit greatly from a consultation, as would a patient with a toothache who’d like to know about treatment options. Likewise, a patient with a pre-existing condition or one that requires at-home care can be helped with a direct video chat with a dentist.
What if I end up needing hands-on treatment from a dentist?
If through a video consult, your online dentist determines that extra care is required, our administrator will provide appointment options available from licensed and trusted dentists in your area that are able to help.
Are the dentists available for consultations licensed and trustworthy?
Yes, every dentist available on our teledentistry platform has been licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO). Even though it isn’t a substitute for an in-office visit, patients can rest assured they are receiving professional dental care during every video consultation and that any subsequent appointment arrangements will also be with a licensed dentist in their area who is on the RCDSO approved list of providers.
How long does an online dentistry consultation take?
The fastest way to get started is to fill out and submit the contact from found at the top and bottom of this page. Once submitted, our administration team will contact you almost immediately to set up a consultation appointment that works best for you. Once an appointment has been set, patients will receive an email containing a link to begin their online consultation at the agreed appointment time. The video consultation is web browser based, so no download or installation is required. It’s a simple, straightforward process and the fastest way to get invaluable oral health care from a licensed dentist online. The duration of a consultation ranges from 15 minutes to a half hour or depending on the requirements of the patient.
Am I able to visit a dentist during the COVID-19 shutdown?
Patients with dental emergencies or concerns that require immediate or rapid attention are able to visit a dentist office. However, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) has strongly recommended against conducting any elective procedures or non-essential treatments, effectively making it very difficult for patients to see a dentist at the moment.
To help reduce the number of appointment requests, we recommend using our teledentistry service to help patients determine if they need help now of if their issue can wait. This helps keep everyone safe and protected from the COVID-19 virus.
